ROMANIA’S DECLARATION OF READNINESS

Letter sent to the General Secretariat of EU Council by the state which is going to be evaluated, letter that confirms the readiness for starting the Schengen evaluation process.


By this document, Romania expressed its intention to start the evaluation process in the fields of data protection, police cooperation and visas fields

Romania has fulfilled the objective for starting the Schengen evaluation process

- In May 24 2007, a meeting of National Commission of Schengen Auto-Evaluation took place, when it was adopted the Romania’s declaration of readiness on starting the Schengen evaluation process three fields

- In June 28 2007, the official presentation of Romania’s declaration of readiness during the Schengen Evaluation Group (SCH-EVAL) took place.

- On 2 June 2008, during Sch-Eval meeting it was presented the 2nd Declaration of Readiness of Romania which confirms the preparation for the starting of the Schengen evaluation process on the others Schengen fields, respectively air, sea and land borders and SIS/SIRENE.
